I believe that a painting is something that should lift your mood whenever you look at it – to remind us that life doesn’t always have to be serious. My paintings are influenced by my surroundings, the seasons, music and everyday life. I like to distort reality and give a distinctive (and sometimes humorous) slant on the world around us.
After working for fifteen years in the graphic design & printing industry, I started painting in 2005. However, it was only in 2007 when I had the opportunity to stay at home to care for my two children that I started painting full time. Since then I have been successfully exhibiting my work in Melbourne and regional Victoria.
2008 – I was short-listed for the $150,000 Signature of M art prize.
2008/9 – Finalist in the Koko Black National Drawing Prize.
2011 – Runner up, small works competition – Mt.Eliza Art Show
I have exhibited my work regularly in Victoria since 2007. Some recent examples include:
Without Pier Gallery, Cheltenham (2009)
Beechworth Fine Art (now closed), Beechworth (2008-2010)
Linden Contemporary Art – Postcard Show, St.Kilda (2008-2013)
The Yellow Door Cafe (solo show), Albert Park (2010)
Lioli Gallery (now closed), Camberwell (2010)
The Firehouse Restaurant (group show), Ringwood (2009)

In October 2009 I was the feature artist at the Mt.Eliza Art Show and in 2012 was a feature artist at the Fairfield Art4All show. My work is held in many private collections in Australia, Japan & England, as well as St.Kevins College in Toorak. I have also completed many private commissions.
