Echo Wu was born in Nanjing China, a city famous of its cultural atmosphere. She grew up in an artistic family and her father’s association with famous Chinese painting and calligraphy masters in China created an Environment for Echo to fall in love with Chinese painting at young age.

Echo studied Chinese brush painting, major in Flower and Birds style, in the Fine Art department of Nanjing Normal University where she became one of the most outstanding student ever taught by her teacher, a famous Chinese painting artist and educator, professor Lu Yuezi. In year 2013, she won the “Gold” Prize for “Golden Bauhinia Cup Hong Kong Invitation Competition for Chinese Painting and Calligraphy” held in China, out of around 3000 applications across China and overseas.

Echo has more than 10 years of Chinese painting teaching experience in Singapore and Australia. Echo is now teaching Chinese Brush Painting in Vermont South Community Centre, Ashburton Community Centre, Box Hill Community Art Centre, Mount Street Neighbourhood House, Wheelers Hill Studio and schools.

Her paintings are collected privately and by councils.
